Privacy Policy
How Colonial Window & Door collects, uses, and protects your information
Colonial Window & Door ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at colonialwindowanddoor.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site or request a free estimate, how we use it, and how we protect it. We are a small, family-owned business based in Lake Mary, Florida, and we take your privacy seriously.
Information We Collect
We collect the contact information you voluntarily provide to us, primarily through our free estimate request form. This information includes:
- Name, so we know how to address you
- Phone number, to schedule your free in-home estimate
- Email address, if provided, for follow-up communication
- Product interest, the type of window or sliding door you're interested in
We also collect limited technical and campaign information automatically when you browse our site, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site, original landing page, campaign parameters, and advertising click identifiers. This is standard for most websites, and we use it to improve the site and to measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people. See Cookies & Analytics below for the detail.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to serve you as a potential customer. Specifically, we use it to:
- Contact you to schedule a free in-home estimate
- Answer questions about our products and services
- Follow up on your inquiry if we haven't been able to reach you
- Improve the quality of our website and customer experience
We do not use your information for unsolicited mass marketing, and we do not add you to long-running email campaigns without your explicit consent.
Cookies & Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see how visitors use this site and how quickly pages load. These two are privacy-friendly: they do not use cookies, they do not follow you to other websites, and they do not build an advertising profile of you. What they record is limited to which pages were viewed, the site that referred you, your country, your device and browser type, and page loading speed.
We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. These work differently from the Vercel tools above, and unlike them, they do use cookies:
- Google Analytics records how people find and move through our site, so we can see which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck.
- Google Ads conversion tracking helps us measure estimate requests, phone-button taps, calls, and catalog requests after an ad visit. We review these signals alongside actual inquiries to assess our advertising.
After an eligible Google ad visit, our website may display a Google forwarding number that routes your call to Colonial. Google can measure call details such as the time, duration, connection status, and, when available, caller phone number. We use call reporting to understand which advertising leads to calls. Text-message links continue to use Colonial's business number.
These Google tools set cookies in your browser, and Google may use the information to build advertising audiences. In practice that can mean you see our ads again on Google or its partner sites after visiting us. Google may also combine this information with data it already holds from your use of its other services. We do not send Google the name, phone number, email address, or message entered into our forms. When you submit a form, we may associate the campaign parameters, advertising click identifier, original landing page, and referrer saved by our site with that inquiry in our private reporting system. We use that association to understand which advertising produced a real inquiry and whether the inquiry was qualified or became a booked job.
If you would rather limit Google's measurement, you can install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, change your preferences in Google Ad Settings, or block cookies in your browser. Those Google controls do not by themselves erase the small first-party attribution record described above. You can remove that record by clearing this site's data or local storage in your browser, and the forms continue to work if local storage is unavailable.
Services We Rely On
A few trusted services help this site run, and each handles limited information on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the cookie-free analytics described above.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads measure how visitors reach and use the site, and whether our advertising leads to estimate requests. These set cookies, as described above.
- Web3Forms and hCaptcha protect and deliver our estimate and catalog request forms. What you type into a form passes through Web3Forms on its way to our inbox, and hCaptcha checks for automated spam.
- Caught stores accepted inquiries and their campaign attribution in a restricted reporting workspace so we can review lead quality and advertising results.
- Google Fonts supplies our typefaces. Our main window and sliding-door pages serve their font files directly from this website; other pages request them from Google Fonts.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Period.
In limited cases, we may share your contact information with trusted installation partners who assist us in fulfilling your project. Any such partners are bound to treat your information with the same level of care we do, and they use it only for the purpose of completing your installation.
We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to a valid legal request from a government authority.
Contact Form Data
When you submit a contact, catalog, or quote request form on our site, your information is transmitted securely to our inbox and restricted reporting workspace. The reporting record may include the campaign attribution described above. We retain this information for as long as is necessary to provide you with service, follow up on your inquiry, and evaluate our advertising. If you would like your information removed from our records, please contact us and we will accommodate your request promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you
- Request that we correct any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information from our records
- Opt out of any marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, simply contact us using the information below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
